Cool news!
FarmVille is in the lead sentence of today’s USA Today article on Social Gaming!
John Schwartz of USA Today wrote a great article called “For social networks, it’s game on” where he describes how social gaming is transforming the gaming industry.
Great article and lots of fun for me and the team to see FarmVille keep going growing.
BTW – earlier this week, FarmVille cross the 21mm daily unique player mark!

Hello from Russia!
Can I quote a post in your blog with the link to you?
sure.
Hi I’m doing a project for Kelley School of Business about Farmville. can you tell me how long it took to create the app? Also, how much does it cost to start up and maintain? Thanks a lot!
Hi,
What’s Kelly SOB?
We created FV in 5 weeks. With social apps though, much of the work comes after release in terms of updates, bug fixes and scaling the servers.
We typically don’t share costs and revs, but I can tell you there is a large team working on the game every day of the week.
Thx,
Mark
kelley school of business at Indiana University. thanks!
Sorry for the delay. It took about 5 weeks to create FarmVille by a team of roughly 10 people. Now there is a team of about 30 people working to maintain it.
